My channel exists to share these ideas and theories that interest me. I use this channel to alleviate boredom and occasionally heighten my thought processes.
I spend a lot of time surfing online, but there’s also a lot more to it.
I’ve been working on a video format to document the logic and my reasoning when trying to deconstruct complicated subjects.
This is why I am trying to use high quality visuals and meaningful stories. I am also learning video editing along the way.
Deconstructing ideas for fun.

The Problem of Induction in 100 Seconds

Why believe the sun will rise tomorrow? It's a question that's puzzled philosophers for centuries. This is known as the Problem of Induction, and this is my attempt to explain it in 100 seconds. induction is premise -> inference Deduction is premise A, and premise B, therefore deduction. We can't start at deduction. We must use induction to get the ball rolling. We can induce and infer a set of data, the set unlikely to be totally true or totally false. We cross reference the assumptions to eliminate most incorrect items, then we form deductions from what's left. Information operates in a way uncontrollable by us. This is a blessing and a curse. Empiricism and rationalism are both correct and compatible.
Guys check out Aquinas and St Augustine, actually reading second one and I do not regret any second spent on that book!

The nature of information, which is a fact which we perceive, necessitates that which we cannot perceive. “All we know is what we perceive.” And how is this known? Where was that perceived? “We can’t step outside of our own perception.” We can imagine doing so, and we can be right in our imagining. My point is, the same reason why we can perceive in the first place is the same reason why we are not limited to our live perception. He who believes this in fact is a hypocrite, as he has unknowingly engaged in informational operations with off-site data clusters just to get to you and tell you “I am trapped in my head.” I mean, he told you with words which he did not invent. He engaged in speech with you, and conveyed an idea he formed OUT of his perceptions, not a direct perception itself. Unless he recited verbatim a book he read on the topic or something like this. This is why we know things above the basic facts we perceive. This is why we know that our perceptions can be flawed. This is why we know time passes. This is why we know our people don’t cease to be when they go out of sight. What allows what we see to be necessitates what we do not see also to be. There are viable and unviable ways for information to operate. There are useful and non useful information structures. If it were up to us how that worked, we would be gods. Anything we wanted could be true, anything we wanted could be provable. And yet it all would need to fit together somehow. Perception is a channel of information. It isn’t the only thing that exists. It isn’t the only way we get information. Generally, it is the way we get basic information, but we are able to form higher structures with that information, and then those structures have information about themselves, called meta-data or meta-information. The way information can be assembled like this is of broad possibility and does not have be done in any one way or another without context. This is why we have the ability to be right and wrong, or have effective or ineffective plans. “Perception is the only thing you know for sure” … why though? I feel like someone said that and then everyone was just like yep can’t argue there let’s make 50 different philosophies about it, an act which in itself disproves the notion that perception is the only way to produce information. It’s also convenient how the definitions are constantly sliding around and over interpreted. Perception isn’t exactly a specific thing. Have you ever really examined where your senses end and your memories begin? If someone says something to you, at what point is it them speaking, and at what point is it now a memory of them speaking? And then, if I ask you tell remember the house you grew up in, you’re likely to recall fond imagery. The paint on the outside. The grass in the summer. Your bedroom window. Are these sensations or memories? And then, it’s the same for memories and thoughts. Premeditate an action. Call the experience of having an intention to do something simple and set forth an acting plan to do it. You probably either explained yourself in thought how to do it, or you envisioned/imagined doing it. But verbally encoded thought is… memory. Memory of your voice, memory of words you use to form those thoughts, memory of their meanings. And if you envisioned or imagined the action, you’re calling out memories of the sensations of doing the thing. Memories of previously doing the thing, or memories of doing similar things, rearranged to form what you expect the thing to be like. My point is most people never have considered just how blurry the lines are between sense, thought, and memory. Most empiricists are slight rationalists and vice versa. But I think it’s stupid to be one or the other. As far as I can tell perception is basic information acquisition. From this, you can make information operations that essentially connect you to not-perceived information. And this is feasibly done by the vilified process of imagination, which erroneously is seen as necessarily incorrect and unreal. Einstein imagined black holes as a reason to not believe what he theorized as they were things that at the time seemed not to exist and didn’t make intuitive sense. And he died with that belief. To this day we are detecting and confirming the imagined processes Einstein predicted. Einstein engaged in the most powerful form of information gathering. He alternated between scientific observation, mathematical deduction, and feasible imaginative reasoning. So yeah to reiterate, perception is a huge process. It’s not perfect and it isn’t everything. At the same time, you produce new information from the perceived information, showing perception isn’t everything.

Well you defined just a part of high iq people not all of them show these signs
it is a small story after all
another pretty strange biological sensory example that i can i guess apply to anti-realism is how humans hear sound frequency-wise, we hear sound on a logarithmic scale, but the fourier transform only reads sound linearly and therefore you can't have both extremely precise time and frequency resolution (especially not on the lower end of what we hear since things get quite blurry due to spectral leakage in the way how we calculate the spectrogram, there's always a tradeoff essentially) yet, despite that, we can hear frequencies and transients (clicks, pulses, percussion) perfectly clearly, but right now we don't have any proper tools to really make a high-clarity pseudo-spectrogram what our brain perceives when we hear sounds

I am about to turn 30 in 3 months. My 20's where fun but wasted. I've spent early years getting high, drinking, chilling with friends and family and was gaming for 10hrs a day. No, I did not have a stable job, no gf,no going to the gym, just a waste of a potential. In my mid 20s I started working permanently in construction with my dad, and while it paid well, it was hard work. Most of my clients, like 80% were all in IT, and most of them where sub 25 yo. Seeing them I realized that it's time for a change. I took up a CCNA course and finished it, and in my 29th year of life, I got my first job in IT.I am working with younger guys who are on average 23 years old, and they are so much ahead of me. My advice, ditch the whole partying and "oh there is time" bullshit. Study something that pays well, and when you hit 30, you will be a high paying individual, unlike me, who is just starting out. Sure, I can and will, still make it, but I could've been chilling by now with amazing salary and easier 30s.

Good presentation… However, I challenge you to proffer a single premise that is actually known to be true…
As soon as we start communication with stories we learn other perspectives, and as soon as we consume things , especially psychedelics, we even perceive these other perspectives. And that doesn't tell us anything is real, but it does show us another perspective than our own.
stoned ape theory eh
@@robertus55 Perhaps, yeah, I don't know that one by heart. But I do know that through consumption we learn concepts that aren't our own. For example we didn't start thinking aliens manipulated our dna before we started eating plants whose dna we manipulated. We also started understanding gentle guiding gods as soon as we were gently guiding cattle... that we ate. And for example through lsd (a fungus) people start learning how humanity is actually one organism. We learn that from the fungus that understands what it is like to be a really big organism... And so on and so forth. And that doesn't mean that there is no such thing as unincarnated spiritual beings, but it does mean that we apparently first need to understand this on the dna/rna level before we can direct our imagination to communicate with such beings.
Both are used in the courtroom, the other gets you in the courtroom

hey thank you for your kind words!

adductive sounds nice as well 🥹
Lil bro all dogs bark is not a fact, also a wrong use of the word fact
Hey thank you for this, big bro! I did not say "All dogs bark is a fact." If you listen carefully, you will notice that I said "IF you know all dogs bark, and you see a dog, you can deduce that it will bark." Put that "IF" there just in case big bro comes in an says "well, actually" --- meaning that IF you know that to be true, you can deduce that a dog you see will be able to bark. IF you do not know that to be true --- well one is screwed in the end. One thing that can be attacked is the use of this word itself, as a better term might be "information" or "premises". Another one is the implication that deductive reasoning is only about uncovering pre-existing information. You can find more angles, of course. I will sure pay more attention to my wording in the future. Thanks again, big brosky!
premises dont need to make sense necessarily
Deduction - Create premises and rules of rules of inference, derive truths within the system Induction - Take observations to create rules of thumb, assume truths from further observation Abduction - Kidnap your opponent, tell them that you won't let them go until they agree that you are right.
summed it up way better ^_^
